Jasmine C. Champagne, DVM

Dr. Jasmine C. Champagne graduated from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine knowing she would dedicate her entire career to feline medicine & surgery. She proceeded to work at a feline specialty clinic in Ormond Beach, Florida. She worked with two board-certified feline specialists in one of only 3 veterinary clinics in the United States with more than one ABVP feline specialists. She moved on to work at a prestigious feline exclusive clinic in Tampa, Florida. Her dream was always to come back “home” to Acadiana and open a veterinary clinic exclusively for cats and the people who love them. Her special interests include feline internal medicine and ultrasound.

Dr. “C” is originally from Abbeville, Louisiana. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She enjoys the everyday adventures of life with her husband, Chase, blind kitty, Murdock, and sweet dog, Gwen.

“My favorite part about my job as a feline veterinarian is the minute an owner walks through the door with his/her cat, we have an automatic connection. We appreciate cats for what they are– the mysterious kind of love they offer, the regal stance they flaunt, and the grace with little effort they master.”- Jasmine C. Champagne, DVM

Healing cats and making them more comfortable is Brandy’s favorite part of working at Cat Clinic of Lafayette. She and her husband Kevin have 3 dogs (Pepsi, Buddy, Samantha) and 2 cats (Charlie, Sweet Pea).

Growing up in a military family, Malachi has lived all around the world. She can remember getting her first pet cat in Japan as a child and how unbreakable their bond was. No matter where her family moved, one thing was always constant: a cat by her side. Malachi is a recent graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a degree in exercise science and pre-professional studies. She played 2 years of collegiate basketball for UL’s Ragin’ Cajuns. Her favorite thing about working at the Cat Clinic of Lafayette is the ability to work with cats all day and cat people. She has a house full of love with her dog(Luna) and two cats (Alfie and Lucy).

We are proud to be a claw friendly practice!

Cat Clinic of Lafayette proudly chooses not to declaw cats. We educate our clients on how to train their cats to scratch in appropriate places. We also discuss other alternatives to declawing. A cat’s claws are important to his or her well-being.
